
Trinity College Nabbingo on Sunday, 14th June 2026, joyfully celebrated its 84th Trinity Day, bringing together students, parents, staff, old girls, church leaders and friends of the college in thanksgiving to God for over eight decades of nurturing women of substance.
The celebrations were graced by the Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, as the Chief Guest, while the Holy Mass was led by Rt. Rev. Serverus Jjumba as the Main Celebrant. The day commenced with the planting of commemorative trees and the unveiling of the proposed new school gate, symbolizing the college’s continued growth and commitment to excellence.

The Trinity Day celebrations commenced with the planting of commemorative trees by the Chief Guest and the Main Celebrant. The symbolic exercise highlighted the importance of growth, stewardship and the enduring legacy of Trinity College Nabbingo. Following the tree planting ceremony, the distinguished leaders officially unveiled the proposed new school gate, a landmark project that reflects the College’s vision for continued development and excellence. The proposed gate stands as a symbol of progress, identity and the institution’s commitment to providing a conducive environment for learning and character formation.




Homily by Rt. Rev. Serverus Jjumba
“Remain Faithful to God and Be a Light to the World”

In his inspiring homily, Bishop Jjumba reminded the congregation that Trinity Sunday is a celebration of God’s love, unity and presence among His people. He noted that the Holy Trinity teaches Christians the values of unity, cooperation, selflessness and mutual respect.
Addressing the students, the Bishop emphasized that education should never be separated from faith. He encouraged the girls of Trinity College Nabbingo to strive for academic excellence while remaining grounded in Christian values and moral integrity.
“The greatest success in life is not merely obtaining good grades, but becoming a person of character, honesty and service,” he emphasized.
The Bishop praised the college for its longstanding commitment to holistic education, noting that Trinity College Nabbingo has continued to produce women who contribute positively to society, the Church and the nation.
He encouraged students to:
- Remain faithful to God in all circumstances.
- Respect their parents, teachers and fellow students.
- Use their talents to serve others.
- Avoid negative influences that compromise their values.
- Develop leadership skills founded on humility and responsibility.
- Embrace discipline as a pathway to success.
The Bishop further called upon parents to continue investing in the education and spiritual formation of their children. He observed that schools such as Trinity College Nabbingo provide an environment where academic excellence is balanced with strong Christian formation and character development.
Concluding his homily, Bishop Jjumba prayed that the Holy Trinity would continue to guide and bless the college, its students, staff, old girls and benefactors. “Our young people must remain faithful to God, committed to their studies and dedicated to serving others with love and humility.”




A number of candidates received various sacraments administered by the Main Celebrant and in his homily, Bishop Jjumba called upon the candidates to remain firm in their faith, strengthen their relationship with God, and live exemplary Christian lives guided by the values of the Gospel. He encouraged them to become true witnesses of Christ through their words, actions and service to others, reminding them that the sacraments they received mark an important step in their spiritual journey.
Address by the Headteacher, Mrs. Immaculate Nasozi Lwanga
Celebrating Achievement and Looking to the Future
In her address, Headteacher Immaculate Nasozi Lwanga welcomed all guests and expressed profound gratitude to God for His continued guidance and blessings upon the college throughout its 84-year journey.
She thanked the Archdiocese, Board of Governors, parents, staff, old girls, benefactors and friends of the college for their unwavering support towards the growth and development of the institution.
The Headteacher highlighted the college’s recent achievements, noting outstanding performance in both UCE and UACE examinations. She congratulated the students and teachers for their dedication, commitment and hard work which continue to uphold the school’s reputation as one of Uganda’s leading institutions for girls’ education.
She further noted that Trinity College Nabbingo remains committed to providing holistic education that empowers learners spiritually, academically, socially and morally.
Speaking about the future, she reaffirmed the school’s commitment to:
- Maintaining academic excellence.
- Promoting innovation and creativity.
- Strengthening spiritual formation.
- Expanding infrastructure to meet growing educational demands.
- Enhancing co-curricular activities.
- Preparing students to become responsible global citizens.
Mrs. Lwanga also appreciated parents for entrusting the college with the education of their daughters and acknowledged their role in supporting the school’s mission.
“Every achievement we celebrate today is a result of teamwork, sacrifice and commitment from all stakeholders. Together, we continue to build a strong foundation for future generations of young women,” she remarked.
She concluded by encouraging students to embrace the values of the college and remain true to its motto of integrity, excellence and service.
Chief Guest’s Address by Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga
Education as a Foundation for Transforming Society

Delivering the keynote address, the Katikkiro of Buganda, Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga, commended Trinity College Nabbingo for its remarkable contribution to girl-child education and nation-building over the last 84 years.
He praised the Board of Governors, administration and staff for maintaining a vision that nurtures confident, responsible and capable young women prepared to assume leadership roles in society.
The Katikkiro emphasized that education is one of the most powerful tools for transforming communities and developing the nation. He encouraged students to take advantage of the opportunities available to them and to strive for excellence in all aspects of life.
He urged learners to cultivate:
- Discipline and self-control.
- Hard work and perseverance.
- Respect for cultural and moral values.
- Innovation and creativity.
- Patriotism and service to society.
The Chief Guest noted that while academic success is important, character remains the true measure of leadership.
“Uganda and Buganda need young people who are not only educated but also responsible, ethical and committed to serving their communities,” he observed.
He further encouraged students to become ambassadors of positive change by using their education to solve societal challenges and uplift others.
The Katikkiro applauded the college’s ongoing development initiatives, including the proposed new school gate and future expansion projects, describing them as evidence of visionary leadership and commitment to excellence.
He also challenged old girls and well-wishers to continue supporting the college’s development agenda so that future generations may benefit from the same opportunities and values that have defined Trinity College Nabbingo for decades.
Concluding his address, Owek. Mayiga congratulated the entire Trinity College Nabbingo family upon reaching the milestone of 84 years and expressed confidence that the institution would continue producing women who positively impact Uganda and the world.
